This festival has undergone many changes since it began. Would you like to know how it has changed?:

1- Its name comes from the English expression "All Hallows' Eve", although the Celts already celebrated it under the name of Samhaim. For them it represented the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the new year.

2- In 1840 the festival reached the USA and it was very common to use turnips to ward away the spirits from homes. However, it was decided to use pumpkins instead, as they were more abundant.

3- Trick-or-Treat was something that was only done by the poor and instead of receiving candy they were given Soul Cakes, a kind of sweet bread. In exchange, they were supposed to say a prayer for the deceased of the home in question.

NOTICIÓN. NUEVO PROYECTO ETWINNING. "LET'S SING IN ENGLISH".

Estamos de ENHORABUENA. Al igual que el año pasado, el alumnado de Primer Ciclo de Primaria (1º y 2º de Primaria), va a participar en un Nuevo Proyecto Europeo. Van a trabajar con países como: Francia, Reino Unido, España (Navarra), Polonia, Bulgaria, Turquía y Rumanía. El título del proyecto es: "LET'S SING IN ENGLISH" (Vamos a cantar en Inglés). Van a trabajar con colegios de estos países, a través de Internet, para conocer y aprender sus canciones  y por supuesto nosotr@s les mostraremos como disfrutamos aprendiendo Inglés.  Es una maravillosa noticia que nos abre las puertas para conocer nuevas culturas y nuevas formas de entender la Educación.

Project: 
Songs are a tool that we use daily when we want to teach English to our young pupils: - Singing is a way to improve both vocabulary and English "grammar". - Singing could also be a way to discover English culture, for instance with traditional or modern songs. Learning English songs is a good way to learn English. But sharing songs seems even more interesting: - students are likely to be more interested in learning songs and in English class in general by the possibility to get in touch with a real communication. - it's a way to discover European countries all around Europe. The project could involve a lot of partners from a lot of countries. At special occasions partners could share a song from their country in their native language. Songs are only a way to discover more.
